Harold was a lonely and cold dragon fly. He lived near a lake and regularly warmed his wings upon the multi colored stones that lay next to the waters shores. On this cold winters day Harold lit upon the edge of a lambs ear plant. The cold winds blew mightly upon him. Raging against his wings, Harold held tightly. Day in and day out the winds blew strong and cold against poor lonely Harold. It seemed they would never end. The egrets huddled closely to the shores edge hiding tightly under the cattails. The mallard ducks tucked their heads under their wings as they congregated around one another to stave off the stingy winter winds.
Finally on the fourth day the winds began to subside. The suns rays began to warm the veins of Harolds frozen wings. His wings seemed to be so heavy... slowly the icecycles that had formed around the edges of his wings melted and he felt a flicker of warmth shoot through his tiny body.
Just then... over head a shadow crossed over him.
A lady dragonfly named Celina came and gave his nose a peck. The spark that ignited Harold was just enough to finish warming his frozen soul. Alive, thawed and awake... Harold had a friend and he was no longer cold... or lonely.
